What is TEF?

TEF is a language ability test for non-native French speakers who want to endorse their level of the French language for specialised, educational, or individual purposes. The test comprises 5 exams including:

What is TCF? 

TCF is a language ability test for non-native French speakers who want to endorse their level of French for the purpose of trained, educational or subjective reasons. The exam covers oral and writing understanding and is not reflected as hard. The TCF exam is specially intended by FEI and is recognized by the French Ministry of Education. This exam is mostly to test a non-native French speaker’s French-language capabilities. The lowest level of the test is A1 which specifies the beginner’s level whereas C1 and C2 are the top fluency levels of this course.

Exam Format of TCF

TCF consists of 4 sections to check expertise in oral and written skills:

• Reading – There will be a total of 39 questions and a total time of 35 minutes will be given to the candidates.
• Listening – There will be a total of 39 questions and a total time of 60 minutes will be given to the candidates.
• Writing – There will be a total of 3 topics that need to be completed and a total time of 60 minutes will be given to the candidates.
• Speaking – There will be a total of 3 topics that need to be completed and a total time of 12 minutes will be given to the candidates.

Exam Format of TEF

You must take the following exams to immigrate to Canada:

• Oral comprehension – There will be a total of 60 questions and a total time of 40 minutes will be given to the candidates.
• Written comprehension – There will be a total of 50 questions and a total time of 60 minutes will be given to the candidates.
• Oral expression – There will be a total of 2 topics to cover in 15 minutes.
• Written expression – There will be a total of 2 topics to cover in 60 minutes.
